20th of April „Battery Drag Meeting 2008”- Opening of the Latvian Drag racing championship season “Battery Cup 2008”
Latvian Drag racing championship season will be opened with „Battery Drag Meeting 2008” event organized by Forsāža. It would be the first round of the ”Battery Cup 2008” championship and would take place at Bikernieki Sport Complex on 20th of April.
To support and promote development of drag race as a popular sport in Latvia, to mark out it as an attractive and exciting sport, for the first time Forsaza in collaboration with Latvian Automobile Federation will organize a three round drag race championship under the name of „Battery Cup 2008”. Entertainment and various surprises are guaranteed, as well as during the whole season each participant would be able to collect points for the final credit and to participate in the competition for valuable prizes – money gifts from energy drink “Battery”, gift vouchers from sport and recreation center “Keizarmezs” and other gifts. Winners of the each championship round would receive special cups.
First round of the championship „Battery Drag Meeting 2008” would be held on 20th of April at the Bikernieki Sport Complex. The number of the participants for each group would be limited in order to provide safety and smooth run of the race. Online registration would be held at http://www.forsaza.eu/pages/ViewEvent/l2 . Also at this web page the race regulation, the procedure of the licensing of the drag racing would be published as well as all the actual information, news about the forthcoming competitions.
Entrance tickets for spectators can be purchased at Statoil petrol stations and Bilesu serviss sales points (also at www.bilesuserviss.lv). Media representatives are asked to apply for accreditation by email respektauto@inbox.lv.
The second round of the „Battery Cup 2008” would be held at Jekabpils airfield and in the frame of this event there would be the first international auto-audio show organized by Forsaza. Their auto audio installations will demonstrate not only Latvian, but as well Baltic, Scandinavian and Polish participants. Registration for this event would be also held at www.forsaza.eu
The final round of the “Battery Race” would be held at 3rd of August at Sport Complex 333. This event would be BHRA Baltic Cup mid competition at which the fastest motorbikes from Finland would demonstrate their power. The same as last year, this would be a joint event with „HGK Drift Party 2008” thus after drag race competition, drift competition would take place.
