Kysimus rahvale. Kui hea see mootor on? Kui palju hp-sid võib sellest mootorist välja pressida stock blockiga ja kaantega?
Variant "osta parem 426Hemi" momendil ei sobi.

I built one a couple of years ago. I guess the factory power is about 130-150hp depending on the carburation & heads. I built one 130 hp using the stock short block & heads ported, mainly with used parts and came up with about 220 hp; good for 15.1 in the 1/4 in a 1600 kg car with 2.95 gears. Depending on the heads & build level, up to 330 hp is attainable with stock head castings, stock pistons, rods 6 crank, while retaining streetability. Should be a high 12-low 13 second package with good traction & gears in a Duster (or other A-body) chassis. However, since the 318 never was a high performance engine they are not very popular; the 4 bbl came the first time in the late 70's and they were all low CR 'work mule' engines. A way better starting point would be a 360 SB; 42 more cubes to begin with, bigger port & valve heads etc. |
