In the old days of calculated engine mass flow, the TPS was very important. With mass air flow measurement, the TPS is a secondary but important input to the system.
Since our engines are NOT Mass Flow, rather Manifold Absolute Pressure controlled, the TPS IS Important. Right?
Now what does that tell us? I've heard of folks slotting the holes in their TPS so it can be "advanced" to give higher %open values sooner with the intent to effect throttle response positively.
