Sain täna sellise kirja ühelt ameeriklaselt, kes pani tähele, et käin Pontiac -ga tööl:
It sounded like you were familiar with converting liters to cubic
inches, so I thought you might be interested in converting American fuel
efficiency numbers to European numbers. Please ignore the rest of this
message if you have already figured this out.
As you may have noticed, Americans use miles per gallon to measure fuel
efficiency. With miles per gallon, bigger is better (more efficient).
Note that I use the "." as a decimal point:
Liters per 100 km = 235.214 / (miles per gallon)
This also works the other way:
Miles per gallon = 235.214 / (liters per 100km)
So, just for fun, if your car uses 15.34 liters per 100km, you are also
getting 15.34 miles per gallon, not very good.
And if you have an American car that displays miles on the odometer (I
don't know the word for "odometer" in Estonian):
Liters per 100 km = (62.1371 x liters) / miles
I just set up a Star Office file and determined that my Escort got 7.68
L/100km or 30.6 miles/gallon with my last tank of gasoline. I live in
Harju Kose, so most of my driving is on the highway (Tartu mnt).
